IB & High School Math Teacher

The Opportunity

At ISP, learning is a journey of discovery—for students and for the adults who guide them. We believe curiosity builds courage, compassion creates connection, and great schools don’t just prepare students for the world—they help them shape it.

We’re looking for an IB and High School Mathematics Teacher who loves helping students make sense of complex ideas, not just memorize formulas. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, resilience, and confidence in every learner—whether they’re exploring the foundations of algebra or tackling higher-level IB concepts.

You’ll join a collaborative team committed to teaching through inquiry, supporting students’ social-emotional development, and using data to inform instruction. If you thrive on helping students see math as meaningful, creative, and relevant to the world around them, we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Do

Teaching & Learning

  • Design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that build conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.
  • Plan with the end in mind using Understanding by Design or a similar backward-design model.
  • Use Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to ensure lessons are accessible and challenging for all students.
  • Integrate technology and blended learning practices to deepen engagement and extend learning beyond the classroom.
  • Develop authentic assessments and standards-based rubrics to measure student growth and mastery.
  • Provide clear, timely feedback that guides students in their learning journey.
  • Foster a classroom culture of curiosity, perseverance, and joy in learning mathematics.

Collaboration & Growth

  • Work closely with colleagues across departments to create cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of ISP’s teaching and learning practices by engaging in professional reflection and feedback.
  • Participate actively in professional development, department planning, and the ISP professional growth and evaluation cycle.
  • Support the social and emotional growth of students through advisory and community-building initiatives aligned with the CASEL Framework.

Community & Communication

  • Communicate regularly with students and families about progress, growth, and classroom experiences.
  • Build strong relationships grounded in respect, care, and shared accountability.
  • Engage with the wider ISP community by attending school events, performances, and activities.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of teaching experience in secondary mathematics.
  • Experience teaching IB or AP Mathematics (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of Standards-Based Grading, UDL, Blended Learning, and authentic assessment.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
  • Passion for inquiry-based learning and supporting diverse learners.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and global citizenship.
  • International school experience (preferred).
  • High level of English proficiency.

Why Join ISP?

Our High School is home to 360 students from around the world and a team of educators who believe in balancing academic rigor with care. Here, innovation and compassion coexist—we celebrate effort, growth, and curiosity as much as achievement.

At ISP, math isn’t just about finding the right answer—it’s about discovering the why behind it and helping students see the beauty in the process.

  2. CV / résumé (max 2 pages)

ISP CHILD PROTECTION POLICY STATEMENT

Schools strive to ensure that all children in their care are afforded a safe and secure environment in which to grow and develop. Child abuse and neglect are violations of a child’s human rights and are obstacles to the child’s education as well as their physical, emotional, and social development. Child abuse and neglect are of growing concern in schools throughout the world.

The International School of Panama, in keeping with our core beliefs and mission statement, has adopted a Child Protection Policy that will empower students, families and staff in matters related to the health, safety and care of children in attendance at our school.

This Child Protection Policy is the school’s commitment to do our utmost to prevent and protect children from abuse. It is a statement of intent that demonstrates the school's commitment to safeguard children from harm and makes clear to all its members what is required in case of a known or suspected case of abuse. All ISP faculty, staff, and employees, as well as all students, parents and other relevant community members and service providers associated with the school (the “ISP Community”), have a legal obligation to report suspected incidences of child abuse or neglect whenever they have reasonable cause to believe that a child has suffered or is at risk of suffering any type of abuse regardless of the location where the abuse takes place.
