High School Learning Support Specialist at ISP

At ISP, learning is a journey of discovery—for students and for the adults who guide them. We believe curiosity builds courage, compassion creates connection, and great schools don’t just prepare students for the world—they help them shape it.

We’re seeking a High School Learning Specialist who is energized by collaboration, clarity, and meaningful communication. The right person will be passionate about helping students with diverse learning needs reach their full potential—and ensuring that teachers have the timely, actionable information they need to help those students thrive.

This role sits at the intersection of relationships and results, bridging students, teachers, and families to make learning support proactive, personalized, and transparent. You’ll help strengthen Tier 1 instruction, inclusive practices, and case management systems across the high school, ensuring that every learner is known, supported, and challenged.

If you’re a reflective, growth-minded educator who finds purpose in solving problems, empowering others, and making systems work for students, we’d love to meet you.

  • Reports to: High School Principal

  • Communicate proactively with teachers to share strategies, accommodations, and progress updates in a timely and accessible way.
  • Collaborate with counselors, families, and specialists to align interventions and ensure holistic support.
  • Use benchmarking and progress monitoring data to evaluate growth and adjust goals as needed.

Instructional Collaboration

  • Partner with teachers to plan and deliver inclusive lessons using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.

  • Lead or contribute to professional learning focused on differentiation, executive functioning, and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Maintain clear systems for documentation, communication, and data sharing within the division.
  • Support teachers in using assessment data to inform instruction and celebrate growth.

What you will do: Day-to-day tasks:

  • Empower teachers through clarity. Share timely, actionable information and strategies so classroom teachers feel equipped to meet student needs.
  • Collaborate daily. Co-plan, co-teach, and consult with teachers to integrate inclusive practices and ensure meaningful access to the curriculum.
  • Analyze data to drive decisions. Track academic and behavioral progress and use that information to refine supports and interventions.
  • Model inclusion. Demonstrate how to scaffold learning, foster independence, and build student confidence in diverse classroom settings.
  • Contribute to school-wide systems. Participate in SST meetings, department collaboration, and professional learning that advances ISP’s inclusion goals.
  • Communicate with care. Maintain open, consistent communication with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure alignment and shared understanding.

ISP CHILD PROTECTION POLICY STATEMENT

Schools strive to ensure that all children in their care are afforded a safe and secure environment in which to grow and develop. Child abuse and neglect are violations of a child’s human rights and are obstacles to the child’s education as well as their physical, emotional, and social development. Child abuse and neglect are of growing concern in schools throughout the world.

This Child Protection Policy is the school’s commitment to do our utmost to prevent and protect children from abuse. All ISP faculty, staff, and employees, as well as all students, parents and other relevant community members and service providers associated with the school (the “ISP Community”), have a legal obligation to report suspected incidences of child abuse or neglect whenever they have reasonable cause to believe that a child has suffered or is at risk of suffering any type of abuse regardless of the location where the abuse takes place.
