Reports to: Coordinator of Student Services and Divisional Principal
Collaborates closely with: Assistant Principals, K-12 Coordinators and Specialists, Classroom Teachers, Learning Support Team, Learning Assistants, and other colleagues as appropriate.
Responsibilities: (Including but not limited to)
- Teaching Responsibilities:
- Provide learning opportunities for neurodiverse students in the Inclusion Program, ensuring their academic, behavioral and adaptive needs are met within the classroom setting.
- Establish effective relationships with students based on mutual respect, recognizing individuality and fostering an effective and supportive learning environment and individualized program.
- Promote and develop understanding and skill-building within the school community for supporting neurodiverse learners.
- Deliver instruction based on students’ Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Planning, Documenting, and Organizational Responsibilities:
- Develop students’ Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Develop individualized student schedules to maximize participation in the least restrictive environment and address specific support requirements.
- Coordinate schedules for the Inclusion Learning Assistants to provide targeted and effective support.
- Use ongoing data collection and analysis to monitor student progress and make necessary adjustments to intervention programs.
- Collaborate with outside professionals to align and enhance child-centered support
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate updates to stakeholders, including families and colleagues.
- Professional Development Expectations:
- Embrace a growth mindset by staying current on best practices for inclusion and special education.
- Actively participate in teacher development opportunities, including in-service courses, ISP professional learning cycles, and scheduled professional meetings.
- Seek and use feedback from instructional coaches and administrators to refine teaching practices.
- Train and support the Inclusion Learning Assistants with behavioral, academic, social skills and executive skills interventions in conjunction with the Coordinator of Student Services.
- Community Expectations:
- Engage with the ISP community by sharing updates on the progress and development of the Inclusion Program
- Partner with parents, caregivers, and guardians to discuss the specific needs, interests, and goals of their children.
- Participate in ISP community events, such as PTA gatherings, athletics events, and student performances, to foster meaningful connections.
Requisitos
WHAT YOU BRING
- At least 5 years of experience in special education or relevant subject areas.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field.
- Expertise in developing and implementing Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Passion for working with and appreciation of neurodiverse learners.

Child abuse and neglect are violations of a child’s human rights and are obstacles to the child’s education as well as their physical, emotional, and social development. All ISP faculty, staff, and employees, as well as all students, parents and other relevant community members and service providers associated with the school (the “ISP Community”), have a legal obligation to report suspected incidences of child abuse or neglect whenever they have reasonable cause to believe that a child has suffered or is at risk of suffering any type of abuse regardless of the location where the abuse takes place.
